Even with a wide variety of exisiting applications already developed, we find that there is a large demand for application specific Solutions that don't really fall into your typical WMS or Shop Floor solution without major modifications. For over 10 years, Manco Systems has been developing applications for customer using our wireless application tool call ManBar. The ManBar software is the hub of all data collection activity, and it manages the process of data collection and also facilitates dissemination of information. Listed below are some of the key features of the ManBar System:

The flexible design of the ManBar software allows transactions to be added and/or modified easily as required. This eliminates the fear of having forgotten an element that may be critical at a later time. The element can easily be incorporated into the ManBar System either during the pilot implementation or upon completion. This flexibility also facilitates continued growth of your automated data collection System into other areas of your process.

The ManBar application is a client server front-end solution configured to provide:

Seamless integration with ERP applications such as MANMAN, SQL Server, Oracle, SAP, BAAN, JDE
Wireless communication between data terminals and the application server
Real-time integration with devices from all leading manufacturers (Symbol, Intermec, LXE, Compsee, etc.)
High availability and redundancy
Customizable transactions and user interface

The system operates on the following platforms:

Windows (NT, XP, 2000 & 2003 Server) and Unix operating Systems
Oracle, Sybase, Microsoft SQL Server 2000 RDBMS

The architecture of ManBar will add a great deal of functionality and flexibility to your IT system environment without any modification to your ERP/WMS thus providing capabilities not currently available on your host application system such as departmental reporting, use of combined transactions, superior processing performance, transaction processes during down or slow times, ease of portability, and operator training.

ManBar has the flexibility and scalability to expand functionality beyond the current scope.

Typical benefits that will be seen in a ManBar front-end solution are:

Greater reliability of System - ManBar functions whether or not host system/network is up or down.

Built-in Intelligence - ManBar does local validation of data prior to updating host enterprise Systems. This will insure data accuracy without increasing the host's overhead with sub second response time to user.

Will not affect the implementation - ManBar has two major interfaces built in. During software upgrades, the only change will be done with the host interface. The end Of future ERP software upgrades user interface will remain the same thereby eliminating any confusion or training issues.

Superior System Performance -Increased overhead on the host network has no bearing on ManBar’s performance.

Does not create network slowdown - ManBar reduces ERP system’s overhead

Many ManBar users to one user - Provides savings when companies are charged based on the number of enterprise user licenses on the host enterprise system

Improved operator efficiencies - Multiple host screens that are used in a transaction will be reduced to one transaction within ManBar. Default fields are automatically entered in by ManBar, therefore eliminating operator keystrokes.

Allows for the use of multiple brands - This feature allows customers the capability to add hardware from other vendors as technology changes, without having to discard current hardware investment.

Custom reports can be generated by any manager or authorized user. MIS does not have to be involved in any additional report generation.

The ManBar application consists of a real time host interface module for updating the HOST application.

As transactions are collected by the RF device, they will be validated either directly with the HOST or with ManBar’s local database (SQL or Other).

The transactions will be posted to our ManBar database for processing by the host module.

If the HOST system is not available, transactions are queued and the host module will process each transaction later at such time when the application becomes available. This process is totally transparent to the operator.

The frequency and timing of data for validation and host updates can also be scheduled using the scheduler module of ManBar. Database files, Transactions, and System interfaces will be defined by the customer and Manco systems as part of the future System configuration.

Input data validations are performed against ManBar local database.

The tables are loaded by extracting all or selected data from the HOST and transferred to ManBar local database. This process is either scheduled or executed on demand by operator on demand if needed.
